Technothusiasts is now officially suspended indefinitely. Â We hope to be back someday. Â A few factors contributed to this decision. Â We produced for about three years but experienced a lack of listeners and feedback. Â We tried several things to change that from splitting podcasts, combining podcasts, guests, new podcasts, new names, new music, new designs, different hosts, better equipment, etc. Â It never seemed to make much difference. Â I think we could had done a better job at the social networking thing to try and bring in more people. Â But really, the amount of listeners weren’t my main concern, it was that we got zero feedback from the ones we did have. Â We tried multiple ways to do this but ultimately still didn’t get any feedback. Â I’m not sure why that was really. Â It took a lot of time and energy to do this and with no progress, it got harder and harder to do each week, especially when our lives got busier. Â I also think a part of it is that there is a lot of competition in the subject matters that we were podcasting about. Â It’s hard to compete with the TWiT’s and Rev3’s of the world. Â Even myself, I don’t really pay attention to any other podcasts unless it’s from either of them. Â I have a feeling a lot of people are that way. Â I’ve been trying to think of some niche idea that would be somewhat unique but have failed to think of anything. Â So far now, we will say see you later. Â We might podcast from time to time as we get the itch. Â We did love what we did, that’s for sure. Â And I hope we come up with some idea that will be better. Â For now, for the few that are left paying attention to us, if you have any ideas, let us know. Â Until next time…
As you’ve probably noticed, we have not recorded a new podcast for a while. Â We are still here! Â But I have been busy (in the middle of buying a house). Â I hope for us to get back on track in the next couple of weeks. Â But we may continue to evolve and change what we do. Â After our “plea” of having people interact with us and still not getting responses, we may make The Technothusiasts Show a monthly podcast. Â Or we may turn it into a tech blog. Â Or who knows. Â We’d love to keep this as a podcast network and have weekly podcasts, eventually into video and lots lots more but we NEED your support and interaction with us to do that. Â Don’t be shy.
As you’ve probably noticed, we didn’t have a podcast last Sunday. Â With the holidays upon us here, I was gone last weekend and then will be gone this weekend. Â We may or may not get one last show in for 2011. Â There’s not a ton of tech news this time of year anyways. Â But we will be back January 1, 2012!
Heru and I had the pleasure of being guests on the Awesomecast yesterday and had a great time.  Check it out at http://sorgatronmedia.com/awesomecast/2011/11/16/awesomecast-77-muppets-for-government.
For those of you that are subscribed to our RSS feeds, they have changed. Â The old ones will NOT work anymore. Â They will just have the older episodes. Â So please click on ‘Subscribe’ above and subscribe to the new feeds. Â Thanks!
Even though my traveling should be done with after this week, I ordered a nice headset for use on the road. This way the audio won’t be so terrible whenever I’m traveling! But I’ll be back this weekend in the Technothusiasts Studio so everything will be back to its usual great self.
I’ve been on vacation the past couple of weeks but we will return with our regularly scheduled programming this week…stay tuned!
For those that noticed, technothusiasts.com actually forwarded to technothusiasts.geekpoint.com. Â Well, I decided to move it to it’s own domain so I just moved us over fully to technothusiasts.com. Â There may be some bugs here or there with things pointing to the old website. Â If you come across them, please let me know.
